Solution

Enable the PHOTO INK PRINT Setting

Enable the PHOTO INK PRINT setting to print a received color fax with the Photo BJ Cartridge installed in the MultiPASS. This setting option can be found in the Printer Settings menu

Accessing the Menus

Follow this procedure to access the different menus:

5. Press to access the settings under the menu you selected.

6. Refer to the appropriate menu and use these guidelines to select and register settings:

In order for your settings to be registered, be sure to press <Set> after making a selection or entering information.

If at any stage you wish to return to standby mode, press < Stop>.

If you pause for more than 60 seconds while accessing a menu, the unit will automatically return to standby mode.

7. When you are finished, pressto return to standby mode.

User Settings Menu

Setting Description Sub-Settings
DATE & TIME Sets the current date.
UNIT TELEPHONE # Enters the fax/telephone number you want to appear at the top of each fax page you send.
UNIT NAME Enters the name or company name you want to appear
at the top of each fax page you send.

TX TERMINAL ID

Sets the options for the identification header (TTI).

TTI POSITION

Selects the position for the identification header (TTI)
that appears on every page you send.
OUTSIDE IMAGE: TTI positioned outside the image area.
INSIDE IMAGE: TTI positioned inside the image area.

Selects the prefix for the identification header (TTI) fax or telephone number. FAX/TEL
SCAN CONTRAST Selects the scanning contrast.
STANDARD: Select for normal documents.

OFFHOOK ALARM Enables/disables the off hook alarm. This alarm alerts
you that the handset of the telephone is not seated
properly in its cradle.

VOLUME CONTROL

Sets the options for the MultiPASS sounds.

CALLING VOLUME

Selects the volume of the ring produced when the
MultiPASS detects a voice call.

KEYPAD VOLUME

Selects the volume of the keypad touch beep.
(To turn off the sound, select 0.)

ALARM VOLUME

Selects the volume of the error alarm sound.
(To turn off the sound, select 0.)

Selects the volume of the line monitor (sound during
dialing). (To turn off the sound, select 0.)

RX CALL LEVEL Selects the volume of incoming calls. HIGH/STANDARD
TEL LINE TYPE Selects the dialing method the MultiPASS uses to
match the telephone line type you have.

Report Settings Menu

PRINT ERROR ONLY: Prints a transmission report only when a transmission error occurs.

TX (Transmission) Settings Menu

Setting Description Sub-Settings
ECM TX Enables/disables Error Correction Mode (ECM) during transmission. ON/OFF
MID PAUSE SET Selects the length of the pause entered when you press Redial/Pause. 2 SEC

AUTO REDIAL Enables/disables automatic redialing if the other party's line is busy on the first attempt. ON/OFF

REDIAL TIMES

Selects the number of redial attempts. 2 TIMES
(1 to 10)

REDIAL INTERVAL

Selects the period of time between redial attempts. 2 MIN.
(2 to 99)
TIME OUT Enables/disables automatic scanning of documents after the fax number is entered.
ON: Scanning begins automatically five seconds after entering the fax number (10 seconds if sending to multiple destinations).
OFF: Scanning does not start automatically. (You need to press Start to begin scanning.)

COLOR DIRECT TX Enables/disables sending of color documents to fax machines that do not have color faxing capability. (The document is converted to black & white.)
OFF: Color documents cannot be sent to fax machines that do not support color faxing.
ON: Color documents can be sent to fax machines that do not support color faxing. (The document is converted to black & white.)

RX (Reception) Settings Menu

MAN/AUTO SWITCH When the MultiPASS is set to MANUAL MODE, determines if the MultiPASS switches to fax receive
mode after it rings for a specified time.

If you select ON above, selects the length of time the MultiPASS rings before switching to fax receive mode. 15 SEC
