Troubleshoot Support Code 1871 on the PIXMA MX490, MX492 printer.

Cause

The paper tray isn't inserted.
 

Remedy

1. After loading the paper, push the paper tray back in so that the mark on the cassette aligns with the front panel as illustrated below

   

2. When the cassette is inserted properly, you will hear an electronic beep.

3. Open the paper tray, then press the machine's OK button.

   • The cassette paper information registration screen displays asking you to register the type of paper you loaded in the tray.

   • If you want to cancel printing, press the machine's Stop button.
