Change the color mode to 24-bit color.

Solution

Even through the scanner settings indicate the color mode is set to "24-bit Color", it is actually set to "Black and White". In order to correct this, use the Advanced Settings to change the color mode to "24-bit Color":

  1. In the Scanner setting window, make sure that there is a check mark in the box marked "Use advanced settings dialog box", and then click the "Open..." button.


  2. Change the Mode from "Black and White" to "24-bit Color", and then click the "OK"
    button.
