'Disk is write-protected' when copying or moving a file to a memory card. (F20)

Using Windows Explorer to copy or move a file to a memory card inserted in the MultiPASS F20 card slot, the following message may appear:

"Error Copying File

Cannot copy <image file name>. The disk is write-protected.

Remove the write-protection or use another disk."

Cause:

  1. The MultiPASS Card Protect switch is 'On'.

  2. Photo Print mode is active. (If a memory card is inserted in the slot, [INDEX] will appear on the display.)

Solution:
Disable the Card Protect switch on the MultiPASS operator panel.

  1. On the MultiPASS operator panel, press the <Menu> button repeatedly until [User Data] appears on the top row of the display.

  2. Press '>' the right or '<' left arrow buttons until [Card Protect] appears on the bottom row of the display and then press <Set>.

  3. Press '>' the right search arrow to display [Off] and then press <Set>.

  4. Press <Stop/Reset> to return to standby mode.

  5. If Card Protect is off and the message still appears, press the <Copy> button to switch out of Photo Print mode. If the Copy button is on and the Card Protect switch is off, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the MultiPASS, wait 5 seconds and reconnect the cable.
