Solution

If you see a scan error message while using your Mac® with a PIXMA MG3020 or MG3022, refer to the table below for solutions.
 
Error Message Solution
Error in scanner. See the manual for solutions.
  • Make sure your scanner or printer and the computer are connected correctly.
  • Your scanner or printer may be damaged.
    Restart the computer, then reconnect your scanner.

USB connection:
Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons:

  • Scanner is turned off.
  • USB cable is disconnected.
Please check and try again.
  • Make sure your scanner or printer is turned on.
  • Make sure the selected scanner is correct. Refer to the application's manual for details.
  • With USB connection, check the connection of the USB cable and reconnect as required.

Network connection:
Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons:

  • Scanner is turned off.
  • (If using Wired connection) It is disconnected from Wired LAN.
  • (If using wireless connection) Signal strength is poor due to obstructions.
  • Network connection is prohibited by security software.
  • Different scanner on the network is selected.

Please check and try again.

  • Check the network connection status and reconnect as needed.
A required file is missing or corrupted, or settings are incorrect. Try the installation again.
Cannot write or read file.
  • Exit running applications, check to make sure there's sufficient free space on the hard disk, then scan again.
  • Make sure that there is no problem with the destination folder, file name, or access permission.
There is not enough free disk space to complete the scan.
  • Delete any unneeded files on the hard disk and scan again.
Printer is in use or an error has occurred. Check status.
  • Check the printer status.
The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user.
  • Close the other application.
