[ANS.MACHINE MODE] (Answering Machine) receive mode

On the operation panel, press the following buttons to set the fax to answering machine receive mode:

1. Confirm the <FAX> button is lit. If the light is not lit, press the FAX button.
   
   
2. Press <Additional Functions> button. [1. FAX SETTINGS] will appear in the second row on the display.
   
   
3. Press <Set> twice.  The display will read the current receive mode setting.
   
   
4. Use the < (left arrow) or > (right arrow) to select [ANS.MACHINE MODE].
   
   
5. Press <Set>. The MP390 will return to standby mode (date and receive mode are displayed).

Setup Your Answering Machine:

Record a brief Outgoing Message (OGM) on the answering machine. It is recommended to keep the message to approximately 12 seconds or less. Start your recording immediately without any pauses at the beginning of the OGM. Set your answering machine to answer after 2 rings.

The fax machine will now support automatic voice and fax reception.
