Positioning Multiple Items for the Multi-Scan or Multi-crop Function (LiDE 500F, LiDE 25, LiDE 60)

Check the position of the photos on the document glass. Observe the following when using the Multi-Scan or Multi-crop function.
  • Leave at least 1 cm (1/2 in.) between items.
  • Leave at least 2 cm (1 in.) between the items and the document glass's back edge.
  • A maximum of 10 items can be scanned at once.
  • If an item is slightly crooked on the document glass of the scanner within 10 degrees of true, the image is automatically straightened.

* The auto detection of item edges may not work correctly for items that are white overall or that have white borders.
* Items other than photos may not be properly detected, especially printed items with white backgrounds, handwritten items or business cards.
* Do not open the scanner's document cover while it is scanning. You can tell that scanning is finished when the scanning progress dialogs disappear.
* If the Multi Scan function is used with an application program that can not receive multiple images, the scanned images are passed to the application as a single, composite image.
* Items that are not rectangular (or square) may not be correctly detected (such as irregularly shaped cutouts).
* If the Recommended or Color Matching option is selected in the Color Settings Tab of the "Advanced Mode/Preferences Dialog", Auto Tone adjustment is performed for each image individually.
