Clean the scanning area when vertical black or white lines appear when faxing, copying or scanning.
Solution
Scanning Area
When faxes you send or copies and scans you make have vertical black lines, clean the scanning area.
- Lift the document cover to expose the platen glass.
- Wipe the platen glass (A), white areas (B), and transparent sheet (C) with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water.
- Then wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth making sure there are no residues left, especially on the platen glass.
- Close the document cover and make a copy of a text document to confirm the black line has disappeared.
