If your Mac is running macOS 10.14 or later, you will need to follow a different sequence of steps to set up the Mac to work with the printer wirelessly.

1. Connect the printer to the wireless network by:

• Entering in the network information such as the passphrase (also known as the network password)

• Entering the WPS PIN code into your wireless router's internal settings

• Using the WPS Push Button on your wireless router (not all wireless routers support this)

• Using an Android device

• Using an iOS device

2. ​Download and install the drivers and software for the printer.

• If the printer won't connect to your wireless network via any of the methods in step 1, you can use the Canon IJ Network Tool to connect the printer to the network. You'll need a USB cable if you want to connect the printer to your network using this method.
