How to Keep the Ink from Separating

If the printer is not used for a long time (over a week), the pigment may separate from the liquid in the ink tank. When the ink separates in the ink tank, unevenness of the ink density may occur and colors may not print correctly. In that case, let the printer shake the ink tanks by following the procedure below:

Note: To maintain optimal print quality, shake the ink tanks once a week. This operation does not consume ink.

  1. Confirm that the printer is powered on and the Power lamp lights in blue.

Note: When the Power lamp is flashing in blue, the printer is in operation. Please wait until the lamp stays in blue.

  2. Hold down the <Resume/Cancel> button just until the <Power> lamp goes off, and then release the button. The printer vibrates for about 10 to 120 seconds to shake the ink. The amount of time for the operation to complete depends on how long it has been since the printer was last used.
