Description

Documents not loaded properly will not feed through the fax machine.

Solution

Load the documents properly into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)

Open the document tray, fan the documents and then align the edges before loading them into ADF.

  1. Remove all documents from the ADF.
    1. If the fax does not recognize a document is loaded in the ADF, make sure the document is loaded in the correct feeder.
    2. Lift up the document tray to open the document feeder.

  2. Fan out the sheets of paper well so that they do not stick together.

  3. Stack the documents on a flat surface to align the edges of the paper.

  4. Insert the top of the document, face up, into the ADF (1) until a beep is heard.

  5. Adjust the document guide to the width of the document.

Note:
For a multipage document, the pages are fed one by one from the top of the stack.
  1. Wait until all pages of your document have been scanned before starting a new job.

  2. Make sure you follow the procedure above to load documents into the document tray. If the document is not loaded into the document tray correctly, it may not be fed into the fax properly; resulting in a jam, or in pages not being sent.

  3. If you want to send a document with more than 15 (5 legal-size) pages, divide the document into sections and send each section in a separate transmission.
