Solution

This article explains how to save received faxes as PDF files to a shared folder on your computer .

Before you begin

Before you can forward faxes, you need to register the destination folder using the Quick Utility Toolbox.

Set up faxes to forward automatically

  1. Turn the printer ON and make sure it's connected to the computer.

  2.  Flick the HOME screen, then tap Setup icon Setup.

  3. Tap Device settings icon Device settings.

  4. Tap FAX settings.

  5. Tap Auto save setting.

  6. Tap ON.

  7. Tap Destination folder, then select a shared folder.
Note If you specify a PIN code for a registered folder, you will need to enter the PIN before you can select a destination.

Good to know

  • You can forward up to 250 pages of a fax as one PDF file.

  • You can forward up to 2000 PDF files to the shared folder on the computer.

  • If you disconnect the printer from the computer while fax saving is in progress, an error message displays. Tap OK to dismiss the error.

  • "Awaiting document processing" displays when the printer isn't connected to the computer, or if you change the forwarding settings. In this case, the documents are stored in the printer memory and you can forward them manually from your computer.

  • Faxes sent to the shared folder are named with the serial number of the fax (file extension: PDF).

  • If you disconnect the printer from the computer, set the Auto save setting to OFF.

  • We assume no responsibility for damage to or loss of data for whatever reason even within the warranty period.
