Solution

How to Disable Thumbnail View (8600F)

Attempting to scan film with extremely dark or bright contents, or if the spaces between frames are extremely narrow (2 mm is standard) may result in improper detection of of film frames.

Follow the procedures below using the Advanced Mode of ScanGear if thumbnails are not properly displayed in the preview scan. (You can also scan with the Simple Mode of ScanGear.)

  1. Click the thumbnail button to turn off the thumbnail display.

  2. The entire film contents will be displayed and cropping frames will be displayed automatically.

  3. Magnify the image with the [Zoom] button if necessary.

  4. Adjust the displayed cropping frame to the desired size.
  5. Left click on the image to zoom back out.
  6. Select the unnecessary frames and delete with [Remove Cropping Frame] button or [Delete] key on the keyboard.

  7. Click [Scan] to start scanning.


  8. If all the frames are not cropped, click [Show Cropping Frames] button to display cropping frames for all the frames. Follow the step 3 to 7 in Solution 1 after the procedure.
