If you experience the following issues when scanning via USB in macOS 12 Monterey, try the following workarounds to resolve the problem.

Scanner Driver (IJ Scan Utility)

When scanning via USB and you attempt to scan twice, an error appears, and you will not be able to scan again.
The first scan will work normally.

Workaround
Restart IJ Scan Utility.
 

MP Navigator EX

When scanning via USB and you attempt to scan twice, an error appears, and you will not be able to scan again.
The first scan will work normally.

Workaround
Restart MP Navigator EX.
