Error 6901 or 6910 occurs on network capable models

Error 6901 / Error 6910

Solution

If you experience 6901 or 6910 error on your printer, turn it off and plug it directly into a known working outlet.

Also, disabling IPv6 may help to resolve this issue.

Follow the procedure below to disable IPv6:
 

  1. Temporarily turn off the power of all other devices on the network, including the router.

  2. Power cycle the printer to get the error to go away.

  3. Select [ Setup ] on the operation panel (either pressing the Setup  button, pressing the Function button under the Setup option on the screen, using the arrows and OK button, or tapping Setup on the touch screen, depending on your model).

  4. Select [ Device settings ].

  5. Select [ LAN settings ].

  6. Select [ Other settings ].

  7. Select [ TCP/IP settings ].

  8. Select [ IPv6 ].

  9. When a message displays, select [ Yes ].

  10. Select [ Enable/disable IPv6 ].

  11. In the screen displayed, select [ Disable ].

If your printer continues to display this error after following the steps above, OR if you are unable to disable IPv6, your printer may require servicing.
