How do I Install the printer driver in Windows XP?

In Windows XP, the driver for your printer is within the Add Printer Wizard. No download is required.

Follow these steps to install the driver:

1. Click the Windows Start button.

2. Click Control Panel.

3. Click Printers and Other Hardware, and then Printers and Faxes. If your printer is already listed in the Printers window, Windows XP has automatically installed the printer driver for you. If not, continue with step 4.

4. Click Add a printer.

5. Click Next.

6. Select Local if your printer is attached directly to your computer.

7. Uncheck the box next to Automatically detect your printer, and then click Next.

8. Select Canon from the list of manufacturers and your printer from the list of printers. Click Next.

9. Select whether or not you want the printer to be the default printer and click Next.

10. If your printer is turned on and connected, select Yes to print a test page and click Next.

11. Click Finish to complete the installation.
