Scanning Area

When copies and scans you make have vertical black lines, clean the scanning area.

1. Turn off the power and disconnect the power cord.
   
   
2. Prepare two clean, soft, and lint-free cloths.
   
   Note: Do not use tissue paper or paper towels as they may damage the machine.
   
   
3. Open the document cover.
   
   
4. With a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wipe the Platen Glass (A) and the inner side of the Document Cover (white sheet) (B) gently. Be sure not to leave any residue, especially on the Platen Glass.
   
   Caution: The white reference sheet (B) is easily damaged, so wipe it gently.
   
   
   
   
5. Reconnect the power and power on the printer.
