Copying Documents

Follow this procedure to make copies:

1. Open the document tray.

2. Adjust the document feed lever for the document you are loading.

3. Prepare the document and load it, face down, in the ADF.

4. Press .

5. For color copying:

Press to turn on its light, then press to select the image quality setting you want.


You can select from the following:

[PLAIN PAPER]: For color copying on plain paper.

[HIGH RES. PAPER]: For color copying on high-resolution paper.

[COLOR SNAPSHOT]: For copying color photos that are narrower than a letter-size page. Use high-resolution paper with this setting.

[COLOR DRAFT]: For high-speed color copying at a lower resolution.

Note: If you have the Photo BJ cartridge installed, you can only select [HIGH RES. PAPER] and [COLOR SNAPSHOT].

For black & white copying:

Make sure the button?s light is off, then press to select the image quality setting you want.


If the button?s light is on, press to turn it off.

You can select from the following:

[B&W TEXT] : Suitable for most text documents.

[B&W PHOTO] : Suitable for documents that contain photographs.

6. To make a reduction or enlargement of your document, press <Function> , then useor to select the percentage you want.


You can select from the following:

70%

80%


90%


100%


150% (COLOR SNAPSHOT mode only)


200% (COLOR SNAPSHOT mode only)

Note: although you can select 150% and 200% in other modes, you can only make enlargements in COLOR SNAPSHOT mode.

7. If you want to make multiple black & white copies, use the numeric buttons to enter the number of copies.


You can make up to 99 black & white copies.

You can only make one color copy at a time.

8. Press to begin copying.

To stop copying, press the stop button You may then need to open the operation panel to remove the document.

Note: You will be unable to make multiple copies if [MEMORY FULL] appears in the LCD. Print or delete any documents stored in memory to free up space in the MultiPASS? memory, then start again. Also, if you are copying multiple pages with many graphics, separate the pages into smaller stacks or make the desired number of copies one at at time as needed.
