How to print a fax document when ink has run out - MX432

Description

This option will set the machine to continue printing when ink has run out.

Solution

This article also applies to the PIXMA MX439.

Print when no ink

Sets whether to continue printing the received fax without storing it in the machine's memory when the ink has run out.
However, part or all of the fax may not be printed since the ink has run out.

 

  1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.

    Confirming that the Power Is On

  2. Press the Setup button.

    The Setup menu screen is displayed.

  3. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Fax settings, then press the OK button.


     

  4. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Auto print settings, then press the OK button.


  5. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Received documents, then press the OK button.


  6. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Print, then press the OK button.

    If you select Do not print, received faxes will remain in memory until you select to print them from memory.

  7. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Print when no ink, then press the OK button.

  8. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Print, then press the OK button.

     Important:
    * The machine will continue to print even if there is no ink in the ink cartridge. Some printed fax documents may have streaks and may not be readable. Once printed (with or without ink on the paper), you will not be able to reprint that same document again.

    Note:

    Another option is to save received faxes to a USB flash drive.

  9. Press the fax icon to return to standby mode.

* The * (asterisk) on the LCD indicates the current setting.
