Enabling Error Correction Mode (ECM) TX

If there is noise on the phone line, sent faxes may include white horizontal lines across the page (like missing lines) or compressed lines; or, errors will appear on the display.

1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.
   
   
2. Press the Setup button.
   
   
3. Use the button to select FAX settings, then press the OK button..
   
   
4. Use the button to select Advanced FAX settings, then press the OK button.
   
   
5. Use the button to select Adv. communication, then press the OK button.
   
   
6. Use the button to select ECM TX, then press the OK button.
   
   
7. Use the button to select ON or OFF, then press the OK button.
   
   
   • OFF: The machine will not send a fax using ECM. Transmission may be faster. However, the image quality will suffer if there is noise on the phone line.
     
     
   • ON: Image quality will be good if there is noise on the phone line.
     
     
8. Press the FAX button to return to standby mode.
