REFERENCE
  • The figures above are based on a fully-charged Battery Pack LP-E4N, no Live View shooting, and CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) testing standards.
  • The actual number of shots may be fewer than indicated above depending on the shooting conditions.
  • Pressing the shutter button halfway for long periods or operating only the autofocus can also reduce the number of possible shots.
  • The number of possible shots will decrease with more frequent use of the LCD monitor.
  • The lens operation is powered by the camera's battery. Depending on the lens used, the number of possible shots may be lower.
  • Using the Image Stabilizer of the lens will decrease the number of possible shots (shorter battery life).
  • Continuous Live View shooting is possible for approx. 2 hr. 30 min. at 23C / 73F (with a fully-charged Battery Pack LP-E4N).

At 0C / 32F Approx. 2 hr.

NOTE
  • The figures above are based on a fully-charged Battery Pack LP-E4N.
  • When shooting movies, use a large-capacity card with a fast writing/reading speed as shown below.
- [Compression method: IPB] CF Cards: 10 MB/sec. or faster; SD Cards: 6 MB/sec. or faster
- [Compression method: ALL-I (I-only)] CF Cards: 30 MB/sec. or faster; SD Cards: 20 MB/sec. or faster
  • If you use a slow-writing card when shooting movies, the movie may not be recorded properly. Also, if you play back a movie on a card with a slow reading speed, the movie may not play back properly.
  • If you want to shoot still photos while shooting a movie, you will need an even faster card.
  • Even if you shoot a movie exceeding 4 GB, you can keep shooting without interruption. Approx. 30 sec. before the movie reaches the 4 GB file size, the elapsed shooting time or time code displayed in the movie-shooting image will start blinking. If you keep shooting the movie and the file size exceeds 4 GB, a new movie file will be created automatically and the elapsed shooting time or time code will stop blinking.
  • The maximum recording time of one movie clip is 29 min. 59 sec. If the movie shooting time reaches 29 min. 59 sec., the movie shooting will stop automatically. You can start shooting a movie again by pressing the M-fn button. (A new movie file starts being recorded.)
