Solution

When you pick up the telephone connected to the Handset or Ext. jack of the Canon imageCLASS and get a fax signal, you do not need to go to the machine?s control panel to receive the fax. Just enter a specific ID number (default setting: 25) with this telephone keypad, and you can start receiving the fax.

Note: Remote Reception will not work if telephone or handset is not connected to the imageCLASS directly

1. When an incoming call rings, pick up the telephone connected to the Handset or Ext. jack of the Canon imageCLASS.

2. If you hear a beep, enter the ID number for Remote Reception with the telephone keypad.
The ID number is set to 25 by default. You can change this number as necessary.

See how to change the Remote Reception ID number below under How to Change the Remote RX ID Number.

3. Hang up the handset.

How to Change the Remote RX ID Number (Remote Reception)

Specify settings for receiving a fax by operating a telephone that is connected to the Handset or Ext. jack of the Canon imageCLASS machine (Remote Reception). When a fax is sent to the machine, you can receive it just by picking up the handset of the telephone (connected to the Canon imageCLASS) and entering a specific ID number using the telephone keypad. This feature can save you the trouble of going to the Canon imageCLASS machineƕs control panel.
