Description

Some users have encounter the following error when printing on 500ft rolls of 20lbs bond paper (75gsm) :
“Hardware Error E16-2O22: Upper Roll Drive Overload”

Solution

  1. New Firmware (V.1.21 issued 12/03/18 is recommended as a permanent countermeasure for the occurrence of the E16-2022 hardware error. 
  2. If the firmware on your printer is not version 1.21 or higher please update the firmware. 
  3. You can download the latest firmware by visiting the Canon USA Website https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support?tab=drivers.
  4. Enter your model in the box as shown below and select your model in the drop down box.  Click GO.
  5. Select the Drivers and Downloads Tab and then select the Firmware Tab.
