HI-SPEED USB Device Plugged into non-HI-SPEED USB Hub.

This message appears when a USB 2.0 compatible device is connected to the USB 1.1 interface of the host computer.

The scanner or printer can be used without any problem even if this message appears. There is no setting on the devices to switch between USB 1.1/2.0.

In most cases, if a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed device is connected to a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port on the computer, it can perform faster.  However, faster performance speeds may not be possible with USB powered scanners such as the LiDE series scanners.  This is due to the fact that the scanner is already performing at the fastest possible speed using the maximum power that is supplied by USB.
