Solution

Remove foreign objects

Foreign material inside the printer can cause printer malfunction

Note:  The following images are of a Canon i860 printer.

Caution:  To avoid injury or damage to the printer, always disconnect the power to the printer before checking for obstructions.

  1. If there is any foreign material (such as a piece of metal or pen) inside the printer, after turning the printer off and removing the power cord from the outlet, remove it by hand, or with tweezers.



     
  2. Check to be sure that there is no foreign material by opening the printer's top cover and paper output tray.
