Description

This article explains what to do if you are having difficulties installing drivers or software from Canon on a Windows 11 PC.

Microsoft Store Only

Solution

If your Windows 11 PC is set to only allow apps from the Store to be installed, you will see the following message:

This screen appears if the PC only allows software from the Windows Store

This will prevent you from installing drivers and software from the Canon website.

If your PC is set to display a warning before an unverified app is installed, you will see this message when installing a driver or software from the Canon website:

This screen appears before an unverified app is installed

You can change a setting in Windows 11 that will allow you to install apps from anywhere, which will prevent these messages from appearing when attempting to install drivers and software from Canon.  Follow these steps to change this setting.

  1. Click the Start button, then click the Settings  icon.

  2. Click Apps.

  3. Select Advanced app settings.

  4. Next to Choose where to get apps, click the drop down menu and select Anywhere.

    Select Anywhere (outlined in red)
