Description

Identify paper issues that cause the No Paper error and how to prevent them on your PIXMA MG2420 or MG2520 printer.

Solution

Load paper properly in the printer and make sure the paper stack does not exceed the paper load limit.
Note Get additional help on how to load paper.

How to avoid paper problems

  • Proper feeding of paper while printing may not be possible when the paper tray is filled to maximum capacity. Environmental conditions (very high or low temperature or humidity) can also contribute to paper problems. In such cases, reduce the sheets of paper you load at a time to less than half of the paper load limit.

  • When loading two or more sheets of paper, align the edges of the sheets before loading.

  • Check that paper you are printing on is not too thick or curled.

  • Always load the paper in portrait orientation, regardless of the printing orientation.

  • See that the paper is loaded with the print side facing up. Align the paper stack against the right side of the rear tray and slide the paper guide so that it just touches the left edge of the stack.

  • If the paper tears in the rear tray, learn how to remove the jammed paper.

  • Confirm that the media type and size settings match the loaded paper. There are various media types of paper you cannot use as it may cause your machine to jam or malfunction.

Caution If there are any foreign objects in the rear tray, be sure to turn off the machine, unplug it from the power supply, then remove the foreign object.

Envelopes

When printing on envelopes, load them in portrait orientation. If the envelopes are placed in landscape orientation, they will not feed properly.

Paper feed roller

When paper does not feed properly, the paper feed roller may need to be cleaned.
Note Cleaning the paper feed roller will wear the roller, so perform this procedure only when necessary.
