Solution

Loading Paper in the Cassette

  1. Grip the cassette handle, and draw out towards you until the cassette comes to a stop.

  2. Open a package of copy paper, and remove the paper stack.

    • If the copy paper is curled, uncurl it before placing it in the cassette. Failure to do so will cause paper creases and a paper jam.
    • The cassette holds up to approximately 250 sheets of 20 lb bond (80 g/m2 ) copy paper.

  3. Load the paper stack beneath the cassette's length guide (1) and width guides (2) (see illustration above).

    • Make sure that the height of the paper stack does not exceed the height of the length's guide claw in the cassette. Failure to do so will cause a paper jam.
    • Avoid adding a stack of paper when there is still paper left in the cassette.
    • Do not load extra copy paper when there is still paper left in the cassette.
    • Only load one size of copy paper into the cassette. Do not load different sizes of paper into the cassette at the same time.
    • Do not load postcards or transparencies into the cassette.

  4. Gently insert the cassette as far as it will go.

    • The cassette is for copy paper ONLY. Loading non-recommended copy stock into the cassette may cause a paper jam.
    • If the copies are curled, or a paper jam occurs, remove the paper stack from the cassette. Turn it over and then place it in the cassette.

Sometimes, when you pull out the cassette, copy paper may stick out, as shown in the illustration to the right. Make sure that the paper is neatly loaded into the cassette, before you push the cassette back into the main unit.
