Manual sending MultiPASS F50

Solution

Sending Faxes manually

Use manual sending when you want to talk to the recipient before sending a document, or if the recipient does not have a fax machine that can receive automatically.

NOTE
With manual sending, you cannot use the platen glass to send documents. You will need to connect a telephone to your machine if you want to talk to the recipient before sending a document.

Follow this procedure for manual sending:

  1. Connect a telephone to your machine if you want to talk to the recipient before sending a document

  2. Load the document in the ADF.

  3. Press <Fax>.

  4. Adjust any necessary settings for your document.
    • For color sending, press Color/B&W to turn on its light.

  5. Press <Hook> or lift the handset.

  6. Dial the recipient' s number using the numeric keys or directory dialing.

  7. Talk through the handset to the recipient. If you hear a high-pitched signal instead of the recipient' s voice, go to step 9. Your machine does not have hands-free calling capability so you will have to pick up the handset to talk to the recipient.

  8. Ask the recipient to set his fax machine to receive faxes.

  9. When you hear a high-pitched signal, press <Start> and then hang up the handset.
    • Be sure to hang up the handset after you press Start on the machine; otherwise the call will be disconnected.
    • The machine will beep if the handset is not hung up properly. Make sure the handset is seated properly in its cradle. If you do not want the machine to beep, disable the OFFHOOK ALARM setting.
    • If you send a color document to a fax machine that does not support color faxing, or TRY AGAIN IN B&W will be displayed in the LCD,
