Solution

Make sure that the black plastic paper guide is seated properly in the rear cover.

  1. Make sure that the post is seated correctly in the clip.

  2. Make sure that the actuator (black) is resting on top of the leaf spring (silver) and not underneath it.

If either one of these is not seated properly, the paper feed switch will not activate the black plastic paper guide changing the path from the straight through to the u-turn.
