If black vertical lines appear when faxing or making copies, then the scanner may need to be cleaned.

To clean the scanner glass do the following:

  1. Make a copy of a clean text document with no vertical lines on the page.
  2. Place the copy back into the Automatic Document Feeder.
  3. Insert the copy page the same way the original page was placed (i.e. header or footer first). This will show you which area of the scanner glass needs to be cleaned.
  4. Disconnect the power cord to the MultiPASS.
  5. Open the MultiPASS Operation Panel and use a soft clean cloth to wipe scanning glass window and the white plastic strip across from the glass.

Note: Do Not Pour Cleaner Fluid Into The Machine!
  6. If necessary, you can use glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol on the tip of a cotton swab or Q- tip. It is important to squeeze out excess fluid before inserting the swab into the MultiPASS.
  7. Re-connect the power cord and make another copy.
