Review the list below and perform each step until you are able to print to your MultiPASS.

  1. Confirm that the MultiPASS Server is running and is idle. The Server will appear as an icon next to the time on Windows taskbar. Slowly glide the mouse pointer over the icon to display 'Idle'.
  • To launch the Server, click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Canon MultiPASS Suite', and then 'MultiPASS Server'.
  1. Shut down the computer and unplug the power cord from the MultiPASS. Disconnect and reconnect ends of the printer interface cable to make sure it is firmly seated. Plug in the power cord to your MultiPASS, wait until the date and receive mode appear, then turn on the computer.
  2. After the computer has fully booted, open the document you wish to print and close all other running applications.
  3. From the application's 'File' menu, click 'Print', select the MultiPASS Printer Driver, make any necessary print option settings and click 'OK'. If the MultiPASS Printer Driver does not appear in the printer drop down list, then install just the printer driver from the Canon Creative For Your MultiPASS CD-ROM.
  1. To install just the MultiPASS Printer Driver, save the document you want to print, close all running applications, and insert the Canon Creative disk into your CD-ROM drive. Setup should start automatically.
  2. If Setup does not start automatically, click 'Start' and then 'Run'. In the 'Open' box, type "X:\setup" (where X is your CD drive) then click 'OK'.
  3. Click 'Next' at the Welcome screens and allow setup to detect the missing components and then click 'OK'.
  4. After the printer files have been installed and configured, click 'Finish' to complete setup.
  5. Click 'Next' at the splash screen and then exit setup. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Click 'OK'. Re-open your document then select the MultiPASS Printer Driver to print the document.
  1. Search and delete temporary (TMP) files that may be occupying your computer's hard drive space.
  2. In the MultiPASS Printer Properties, set the 'MultiPASS Spool Settings' to 'Print directly to the printer'.
    • Click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Printers'.
    • Right-click on the MultiPASS Printer icon.
    • Select 'Properties'.
    • Click the Details tab, and then 'Spool Settings' (this is where to change the Spool Settings)
  3. If the MultiPASS still doesn't print, then delete the MultiPASS Printer Driver and search for and delete CANONBJ.DRV from X:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ directory (where X is your computer's hard drive).

Note: The above file will be removed when the printer driver is deleted. But if for some reason it is not removed and is corrupt, then it can continue to cause printing difficulties even after the driver is reinstalled.

  1. If you still have difficulty printing, check that the Print Processor Value is set to 'WinPrint' in the following Registry Key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\System\CurrentControlSet\control\Print\Printers<printer name>
