Error Indicator is lit solid or blinking

Description

This article covers the various reasons why the orange error indicator could be flashing or lit solid.

Solution

1. Confirm there is paper loaded in the cassette tray.

2. Check the display for a message.

Click Here if the message refers to a Paper Jam.

Click Here if the message refers to another issue.

3.  Turn the printer off, wait for at least 10 seconds and turn it back on.

If you cannot resolve an issue by yourself, or the issue keeps occuring your machine may need service.

Do not attempt to repair the machine by yourself. 

Contact the Canon Customer Care Center at 1-800-OK-Canon, Monday through Friday.

When calling Canon please have the following information ready.
  • Product name
  • Details about your problem
  • Serial number (found on a silver label on the back fo the machine)
