Transporting the Printer

Packing the Printer

When relocating the printer or storing the printer for a long period of time, pack the printer using the original packing materials. If you do not have the original packing materials, pack the printer carefully using protective material and place inside a sturdy box.

Important: Pack the printer with the print head and ink tanks left installed in the printer.

  1. Turn the printer off.

  2. Ensure that the POWER lamp is off and unplug the printer.

Important: Do not unplug the printer while the POWER lamp is lit or flashing green to protect the printer from the damage.

  3. Retract the Front Tray, the Rear Support, and fold down the Paper Support.

  4. Disconnect the printer cable from the computer and from the printer, and then disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  5. Secure the Top Cover, the Front Tray, and the Rear Support with adhesive tape to keep it closed, and then pack the printer in a plastic bag.

  6. Attach protective material to sides of the printer when packing the printer.

Caution: Do not transport or store the printer on a slant, vertically or upside-down, as the ink may leak and damage the printer.

Shipping the printer

  • Before shipping the printer by special delivery or post:
  • Tape the lid of the box securely with strong tape.
  • Clearly label the box as "FRAGILE" or "HANDLE WITH CARE."
