To canceling printing, press the <Stop/Reset> button.
To continue to printing, press the <OK> button.
Replace the ink cartridge with a new one as soon as possible after printing completes.
The machine may be damaged if printing is continued under the ink out condition. |
The following ink cartridge cannot be recognized.
U051 / U053 / U059 |
The ink cartridge is not installed properly or the installed ink cartridge is not compatible with this machine.
Install the appropriate ink cartridge.
Even though you set single-cartridge printing, cartridges have to be installed.
If ink cartridges are not installed, this error will occur.

Some ink cartridges are not installed in place.
U075 / U076 |
Each ink cartridge is not installed in place.
Install them in the correct position. |
The following ink cartridge cannot be recognized.
U140 |
The installed ink cartridge is not compatible with this machine.
Install the appropriate ink cartridge. |
The following ink may have run out.
U161 |
An ink cartridge that was once used may be installed or ink may have run out.
Replace the ink cartridge.
Although it is possible to continue printing by pressing the <OK> button, this operation will release the function for detecting the remaining ink level.

Communication with the connected camera is not possible.
Disconnect the cable from the camera to resolve the error.
Confirm the following items and try printing again.
1) Check if the camera is compatible with "PictBridge" or Canon "Bubble Jet Direct".
If the camera is not compatible with either, Camera Direct Printing is not possible.
2) Depending on the model or brand of your camera, you may have to select a print mode compliant with PictBridge before connecting the camera.
Perform necessary operations according to the instruction manual supplied with your camera.
3) A specified period of time may have elapsed without receiving a response from the digital camera.
Disconnect the cable from the camera and reconnect the cable.

The waste ink absorber is almost full. |
The waste ink absorber is almost full.
Press the <OK> button to release the error.
For a while, printing can be continued; however, when the waste ink absorber becomes full, printing will no longer be possible.
Waste ink absorber is a part inside the printer, which absorbs ink used in the cleaning operations, etc.

Failed to scan head alignment sheet. |
Scanning head alignment sheet failed.
Make sure all required ovals on the head alignment sheet are filled in, and that the sheet is set in the correct position and orientation on the platen glass.
Make sure paper is correctly installed.
If the machine is connected to the computer with the cable, and the MP driver is installed, you can align the print head using the MP Driver.

The card is currently write-enabled. |
Since the memory card is currently write-enabled, printing is not possible.
Set to read-only mode. |
There are no photos in memory card. |
For the following images, as printing from a printer is not possible, do printing from a computer.
- Photo data edited/processed
- Image with a file format other than JPEG or TIFF
- Images with a file name which includes double-byte characters
- Images stored in the fourth or higher layer folder |
There is no paper. |
If paper is not installed, install it and then press the <OK> button. When paper is installed, check the following items and try printing again.
1. Confirm recommended paper is loaded.
2. Check if paper is loaded properly.
3. Confirm the maximum number of sheets does not exceed the paper loading limit.
4. Clean the paper feed roller may resolve this error.

Clear the jam.
If paper jams frequently, check the following items.
1. Confirm there is no any foreign material in the printer.
2. Confirm only recommended paper is loaded.
3. Check if paper is loaded properly.
4. Confirm the maximum number of sheets does not exceed the paper loading limit.
