Description

Understand and resolve error messages you may see when you use the IJ Scan Utility for your MG3020 or MG3022 with a Mac.

Solution

If an error message for IJ Scan Utility appears when you use your printer with a Mac®, check the Error Code number, then follow the solution provided in the table below.

There is not enough memory.

  • There's not enough memory to start IJ Scan Utility. Exit other running applications.

The image you attempted to scan is in a size that cannot be opened in the specified application.

  • Reduce the resolution or output size of the original, then scan again.

157

Scanner is turned off.

May be disconnected from wired LAN.

If wireless network (LAN) connection is in use, the signal strength is poor due to obstructions.

Network connection is prohibited by security software.

Different scanner on the network is selected.

  • Check the wireless connection status and reconnect as needed.

  • ​If the message still appears, restart the computer.

201

A required file is missing or corrupted, or settings are incorrect.

  • Reinstall the scanner driver ICA (Image Capture Architecture) from our website.

  • Reinstall IJ Scan Utility from our website.

An internal error has occurred.

230

A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed.

Cannot complete the scan. The disk space is insufficient.

  • Delete unnecessary files on the hard disk and scan again.

Cannot save the file. The disk is write-protected.
  • Cancel the write protection on the disk.

This scan function is not supported by the selected model.
  • Select a different scan function.

Cannot write file.
  • Check the access permission on the folder in Folder to Save Temporary Files in the Settings dialog, or Save in in the corresponding Settings dialog .

Cannot read file.
  • Check the access permission on the folder in Folder to Save Temporary Files in the Settings dialog, or Save in in the corresponding Settings dialog .

You do not have the required privileges to access the specified folder.
  • Grant access permission to the specified folder.

Text could not be detected.

The Document Language setting does not match the document language.

There is no text in the document.

Text that is not supported for detection is scanned.

  • Make sure the Document Language in the Settings dialog matches the document language on your original.

  • Make sure there is text in the document.

Scanner is not selected.
  • Select Scanner Selection to choose scanner.

  • In the network selection screen, specify the scanner you want to use.

  • Refer to network scan settings for the setting procedure.
