Description

Learn how to adjust the auto power options of the PIXMA G4210 from a Mac.

Solution

Printer power supply is operated from Remote UI.

Energy saving settings

Energy saving settings allow you to set Auto power off and Auto power on.

Auto power off is the function where the printer automatically turns itself off when data is not sent or the printer remains inactive for a certain period.
The Auto power on function automatically turns on the printer when data is received.

To access the settings:

  1. Select Device settings from Remote UI.

  2. Select Energy saving settings.

  3. Adjust the following settings as needed:

    Auto power off

Specify the time from the list. Printer automatically turns itself off, when data is not sent within the specified time or the printer has remained inactive.

    Auto power on

When you check this check box, the printer automatically turns itself on when data is sent.

  4. Click OK.
The printer will operate with the specified settings.

When you use the printer by connecting it to a telephone line for faxing, you can set Auto Power Off but the power will not be turned off automatically.
