When an error has occurs, the error or message is displayed on the LCD. Take the appropriate action to clear the message.

The following ink may have run out. U041

Ink may have run out.

To cancel printing, press the Stop/Reset button.

To continue printing, press the OK button.

After the printing finishes, replace the empty ink tank.

Printing with an empty ink tank may cause machine malfunction.

The following ink has run out. U163

Ink has run out.

Replace the ink tank.

Continuous printing under the above condition may damage the machine.

 

Although it is possible to continue printing by holding down the Stop/Reset button for more than five seconds, this operation will release the function for detecting the remaining ink level.

Please note that damages associated with refilling ink are not covered under the machine's warranty.

The remaining level of the ink cannot be correctly detected. U130

The remaining level of the ink tank cannot be correctly detected.

Replace the ink tank.

Continuous printing under the above condition may damage the machine.

More than one ink tank of the following color is installed. U071 / Some ink tanks are not installed in place. U072

Ink tanks are not correctly installed.

Install them correctly and in the proper slots.

The following ink tank cannot be recognized. U140 / U150

The ink tank is not compatible with this machine, or an ink tank error has occurred (The ink lamp is off).

Replace the ink tank.

This paper is not compatible with duplex printing.

This paper is not compatible with duplex printing.

Supported paper size is A4 / Letter / A5 / B5 / 5" x 7"(127x177.8).

Pressing the OK button ejects the paper in printing and resumes printing from the front side of the next sheet.

Please note that the data to be printed on the back side of the paper will not be printed if this error occurs..

Auto head align has failed.

Automatic print head alignment failed.
Press the <OK> button to clear the error.
Check the following list and repeat the automatic print head alignment procedure.

- Check if letter or A4-sized paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder.
- Check if the paper output slot is not exposed to a strong light source.
- Print a nozzle check pattern to check the status of the print head.

If the problem continues, perform manual print head alignment.

The device may be incompatible. The machine cannot communicate with the connected camera.

Disconnect the cable between the machine and the camera to clear the error.

Confirm the following items and print again.

 

1. Confirm that the camera you are using supports PictBridge.

If the camera does not support it, the machine cannot print directly from the camera.

2. Set the camera in PictBridge print mode before it is connected to the machine. This is required before printing for some cameras that support PictBridge.

Please refer to the camera instructions for more information about procedures required before and after connection to the machine.

3. There may have been no response from the camera for the prescribed time.

Re-connect the cable between the camera and the machine.

The ink absorber is almost full. The machine has a built-in ink absorber to hold the ink used during Print Head Cleaning, for example.

This error message indicates that the ink absorber is nearly full.

Press the OK button to cancel the error so you can continue printing.

Printing is disabled once the ink absorber becomes completely full 

Print head is not installed. U051

If the print head is not installed, install the print head and perform print head alignment.

When the print head is already installed, remove the print head and then reinstall it.

 

The type of print head is incorrect. U052

Remove the print head and reinstall it.

 

The card is currently write-enabled.

Since the memory card is currently write-enabled, printing is not possible.

Set it to Read-only mode.

The card is currently write-enabled.

Set the memory card to read-only mode.

There are no photos in memory card.

Images stored in the memory card may be not supported by the printer.
To print images that are not supported by the printer, print the images from a computer.
- Photo data edited/processed from a computer
- Image with a file format other than JPEG or TIFF
- Images with a file name which includes double-byte characters
- Images stored in the fourth or higher layer folder (sub-folder)

There is no paper.

If paper is not set, set paper and press the <OK> button. When paper is installed, check each item try printing again.

1. Check if recommended paper is loaded.
2. Verify paper is loaded properly and in the correct paper source.
3. If printing from a computer, check the feeding method in the MP driver is set correctly.
4. Check if recommended paper is used and the number of sheets does not exceed the paper loading limits.
5. Clean the paper feed roller to resolve this error.

 

The paper is jammed.

Remove the jammed paper.

If paper jam frequently occurs, check the following:

 

1. Confirm that no foreign materials are inside the machine.

2. Confirm that usable paper is set.

3. Confirm that paper is set properly.

4. Confirm that recommended paper is used, and the number of sheets loaded is within the limit.

 

 

Inner Cover is open. Close the inner cover and press the OK button.

If the inner cover is opened during printing, the printer may be damaged.

Release the scanner lock switch and turn the power off and back on.

After turning off the machine, open the document cover and unlock the scanner lock switch.

Scanner is not operating correctly. / Error code

Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine. About ten minutes later, plug the power cord back in and turn on the machine.
