Description

Locate and remove paper jammed in the PIXMA MP240 printer.

Solution

Before you begin

If you need to turn off the machine to remove jammed paper during a print job, press the Stop/Reset button to cancel print jobs before you turn off the machine.

If the paper is jammed in the paper output slot or the rear tray

  1. Slowly pull the paper out, either from the rear tray or from the paper output slot, whichever is easier.

If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, turn the machine off, open the scanning unit cover, and remove the paper.
    • Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine.

    • After you remove all the paper, close the scanning unit cover, and turn the machine back on.

    • If you can't pull the paper out, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper may be automatically ejected.

  2. Reload the paper, and press the Stop/Reset button on the machine.

If you turned off the machine in step 1, all print jobs in the queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.

    • Make sure you have the right size paper, and that you loaded it correctly.

    • A5-sized paper is best used for documents that are mostly text. We don't recommend that paper for documents with photos or graphics, since the printout may curl and cause paper exit jams.

In other cases

Check these items and remove any paper that remains.

  • Are there any foreign objects in the Rear Tray or around the Paper Output Slot?  Remove any foreign objects.

  • Is the paper curled?  Correct the curl before you reload the paper.
