Problem Description:

While attempting to print a document or attempting to open the MultiPASS' Printer properties, the below message may appear.

Note: While the printer driver is being installing, the system may appear to hang. The setup will eventually display "not responding". After Windows is restarted and attempting to print, the message will appear.

Message:

"Canon BJC_4300

Error occurred during file creation."

Solution:

If the installation completed without an error and the file creation message only appears while printing or opening the printer's property, search for and delete BJSYS38.CFG (this file will be located in C:\WINDOWS\NTBJRSTR\. If the system hangs and the message appears while installing the driver, wait approximately 2-3 minutes and then 'End Task' on the Setup to stop the installation. After the installation is aborted, search and delete BJSYS38.CFG. If you are using Windows XP, run Setup2.exe and then restart the computer when prompted by Setup.

  1. Right-click on 'Start' and select 'Search'.

  2. In the 'All or part of the file name:' field, type "bjsys38.cfg". (In Windows 2000, the field is titled 'Search for files or folders named:'.)

  3. Click the down arrow next to the space under 'Look in:' and then select the hard drive (usually C:).

  4. Select 'Search'. (In Windows 2000, select 'Search Now'.)

  5. When the file is found, it will show up on the right side of the window. Click once on the file to highlight it.

  6. Once highlighted, select 'File' and then 'Delete'.

  7. When asked if you are sure you want to delete the file, select 'Yes'.

  8. If the error occurred while installing the software, proceed through the installation.

  9. If you are using Windows XP, run Setup2.exe and then restart the computer when prompted.
