Description

Understand and resolve Support Code 2900 on the PIXMA MG5520, MG5522, or MG6420 printer.

Solution

Cause

You will get this message when the machine is unable to scan the print head alignment sheet.

Remedy

Follow these steps to fix the issue:

  1. Press the OK button to dismiss the error.

  2. Check the following:

    • Make sure the print alignment sheet is set in the correct position and orientation on the glass surface.

Image shows glass surface with paper placed print side down with paper and machine corner marks matching

    • Make sure the glass surface and the print head alignment sheet are both clean.

    • Make sure the type and size of loaded paper is suitable for print head alignment (always use one sheet of A4 or Letter size plain paper).

    • Make sure the print head nozzles aren't clogged. (You can print the nozzle check pattern to check the status of the print head.)

  3. If none of the above conditions prevent the scan, perform a manual print head alignment from a Windows PC or a Mac®.
