Description

DelDrv is installed with the the driver (4400F, 8600F, LiDE 70, LiDE 600F)

Solution

DelDrv is installed when the driver is installed and is accessed from the Programs Menu

There is no separate download for DelDrv. If the uninstall option is not found using the steps below, then the driver, either from download or CD, should be reinstalled first.

To access the DelDrv uninstall application, use the following procedures

  • Quit all running applications before uninstalling the software.
  • Make sure to disconnect the scanner.

<Windows>

  1. Click the [Start] menu and select [(All) Programs] - [(your scanner model)], and click [Uninstall].
  2. When the confirmation message is displayed, click [Execute] - [Yes].
  3. When the uninstallation is completed, click [Finish].
  4. Restart the computer.

The scanner driver is uninstalled.

<Macintosh>

  1. On your hard drive, open [Library] - [Image Capture] - [TWAIN Data Sources] folders, and then drag the [(your scanner model).ds] icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
  2. Restart the computer.

The scanner driver is uninstalled.

Uninstalling CanoScan Toolbox

<Windows>

  1. Click the [Start] menu and select [(All) Programs] - [Canon Utilities] - [CanoScan Toolbox 5.0], and click [CanoScan Toolbox 5.0 Uninstall].
  2. When the confirmation message is displayed, click [Yes].
  3. When the uninstallation is completed, click [OK].
  4. Restart the computer.

CanoScan Toolbox is uninstalled.

<Macintosh>

  1. On your hard drive, open [Applications] - [Canon Utilities] folders, and then drag the [CanoScan Toolbox 5.0] folder to the [Trash].
  2. Drag the [CanoScan Toolbox 5.0] icon on the Desktop to the [Trash] icon.
  3. Restart the computer.

CanoScan Toolbox is uninstalled.

Uninstalling the on-screen manual

  • When uninstalling the on-screen manual, (View Scanning Guide) button of ScanGear and CanoScan Toolbox will be disabled.

<Windows>

  1. Click the [Start] menu and select [(All) Programs] - [Canon (your scanner model) Manual], and click [Uninstall].
  2. On the confirmation screen, click [OK].

The on-screen manual is uninstalled.


<Macintosh>

  1. On your hard drive, open [Library] - [Application Support] - [Canon] - [ScanGear] - [Resources] - [Help], and then drag the help files to the [Trash].
  2. Drag the [(your scanner model) On-screen Manual] icon on the desktop to the [Trash].

The on-screen manual is uninstalled.

Installing the Driver / Software (Windows & Mac)

  • Do NOT connect the scanner to a computer before installing the software. If you connect the scanner and the Found New Hardware Wizard appears, click [Cancel].
  • Quit all running applications before installation, including anti-virus software.
  • For Windows 2000/XP, log in as an administrator to install the software

  1. Place the CanoScan Setup Utility CD-ROM in the drive. The CanoScan Setup Utility program starts.

    For Macintosh: Double-click the [Setup] icon. Enter the administrator ID and password on the authentication dialog box.
  2. Click [Easy Install] on the main menu.
  3. Click [Install] to start the installation.
    Carefully read the on-screen instructions to perform the installation. All the software programs and on-screen manuals will be installed on your computer.
  4. When the Information dialog is displayed, click [ok] to restart your computer.

    For Macintosh: Skip this step and go to step 5.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your product.
  6. When the installation is complete, click [Exit].

    For Macintosh: Click [Restart] to restart your computer.
  7. After restarting, remove the CD-ROM from the drive and store it in a safe place.
