Remove / Install print head and ink tanks correctly i9100 / S9000 / S900

Solution

Seat the print head

Below is the procedure for seating the print head and ink tanks.

Reseating the Print Head

  1. Check that the printer is powered on, open the front cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.

  2. Remove all ink tanks.



  3. Raise the print head lock lever, and remove the print head and lift the print head out of the holder.

  4. Re-seat the print head, and lower the print head lock lever.



  5. Install the ink tanks.

  6. Close the printer's cover.

Install the ink tanks:

  1. Remove the Yellow ink tank (BCI-6Y) from its package.

  2. Pull the orange tape in the direction of the arrow to remove it completely, and remove the shrink-wrap film.



    Note: Remove the orange tape so that a long thin hole can be seen.

  3. Hold the ink tank as shown in the image below.



  4. Twist the orange protective cap in the direction of the arrow, and remove it.

  5. Insert the ink tank into the slot at the right end, and push down on the <PUSH> mark on top of the ink tank



  6. Push the ink tank down until a click sound is made. Install the other ink tanks in the same manner as the steps above.

  7. Verify the inks are installed in the correct order and seated completely.

Return to the top.

Ink tanks' installation order:


  1. <Y> Yellow (BCI-6Y)
  2. <M> Magenta (BCI-6M)
  3. <C> Cyan (BCI-6C)
  4. <PM> Photo Magenta (BCI-6PM)
  5. <PC> Photo Cyan (BCI-6PC)
  6. <BK> Black (BCI-6BK)

    Note: Check that each ink tank is installed in the right position.
