Identify the issue

Sending faxes - poor quality, noise on the line, or incomplete fax
Try setting the TX start speed slower than the maximum of 33600bps.

Try setting the RX start speed slower than the maximum of 33600bps.
 
Note: These steps may also help if your fax machine is connected to a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone line. Please contact your phone service provider if you're not sure if you subscribe to this type of phone service.
 

Steps

  1. Make sure your printer is on.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. Select Setup, then press OK.
  4. Select Device settings, then press OK.
  5. Use the up arrow buttondown arrow button arrow buttons to scroll to Fax settings, then press OK.
  6. Scroll to Advanced FAX settings, then press OK.
  7. Scroll to Adv. communication settings, then press OK.
  8. Scroll to TX start speed OR RX start speed then press OK.
  9. Use the up arrow buttondown arrow button arrow buttons to select a transmission start speed, then press OK. Available speeds include 33600 bps, 14400 bps, 9600 bps, and 4800 bps.
  10. Press the FAX button to return to standby mode.
