Using the MultiPASS Toolbar

You should configure the Toolbar buttons to perform routine, simple scanning and OCR tasks that you do most often. When you want to perform more complex scans, use the Open ScanTastic Central button to launch ScanTastic Central and set more detailed scanning options within the ScanTastic Central application.

The Toolbar Buttons

If you installed the Canon Photo and TextBridge Pro applications, the Toolbar has the following buttons:

Configure C555 Start Button

This Toolbar button configures the action that takes place when you press the <Start> button on the operator panel on the front of the MultiPASS C555. Click and hold this Toolbar button with your mouse pointer to configure the default action for the <Start> button on the MultiPASS.

Copy Button

Click this button to scan a document and print a copy of it on the MultiPASS C555. Click and hold this button to configure Page Setup and Print options.

Open ScanTastic Central Button

Click this button to launch ScanTastic Central if you need to select more complex scanning options and settings.

Open Fax Setup Utility Button

Click this button to open the Fax Setup Utility. Use the Fax Setup Utility to set send and receive fax options and create speed dial assignments.

Scan to PictureViewer Button:

Click this button to scan a document and open it in PictureViewer (this button appears if PictureViewer is installed on your system).

Scan to SimpleText Button

Click this button to scan a document and open it in SimpleText (this button appears if SimpleText is installed on your system).

Scan to Canon Photo Button

Click this button to scan a document and open it in Canon Photo. This button appears in your Toolbar if you followed the instructions in the Quick Start Guide on how to install Canon Photo.

Scan to TextBridge Pro Button

Click this button to scan a document and open it in TextBridge Pro. This button appears in your Toolbar if you followed the instructions in the Quick Start Guide on how to install TextBridge Pro.

Fax Driver Button (If you have a fax modem driver installed)

If you have a driver that has the word ?fax? in its name in the Chooser (such as a fax modem driver), a button for that driver is added to the Toolbar, even if it is not currently selected in the Chooser. When you click a fax/modem driver button, the MultiPASS performs a scan, then displays the fax driver?s dialogs.

Note: If you install Canon Photo and TextBridge Pro after installing the Desktop Manager software, make sure you run the Plug-In Setup utility on the Installer CD to automatically update the Toolbar.
