Locate the Serial Number

The serial number of the MX712 is located inside the printer, as shown below.

1. With the printer powered on, open the Paper Output Tray (A).
   
   
   
   The above illustration shows a PIXMA MX870.
   
   
2. Lift the Scanning Unit (Cover) and fix it with the Scanning Unit Support (A).
   
   
   
   
3. Wait until the print head carriage moves to the ink tank replacement position.
   
   
4. To the right of the print head carriage, inside the printer, is a white sticker that is attached to a metal plate. The serial number is located on the white sticker. Please see the illustration below.
   The serial number starts with four letters and ends with five numbers, for example: ABCD01234.
