Paper and ink cassette sizes do not match - error message

Cause

You may get this error message if the paper cassette and ink cassette are mismatched.

Action

To make sure the paper and ink cassette sizes match, follow these steps:

  1. Check the paper cassette size.
To do this, open the outer cover (1) and look for the size (2).

Figure shows outer cover open (1) and cassette size under the cover (2)

  2. Check the ink cassette size.
To do this, hold the ink cassette without touching the ink sheet and look for the size (such as "L Size", "Postcard 4x6 in. Size", or "Card Size").

Figure shows the size marked at the top, flat side of the ink cassette

  3. Compare the paper cassette size (1) to the ink cassette size (2).
If the sizes match, reinsert the paper and ink cassette and try to print again. If the sizes don't match, correct the issue before printing.

Good to know

To get great print quality and keep your machine running smoothly, use only Canon color ink, and paper set for SELPHY CP printers

Make sure you don't do the following:

  • Load paper upside-down, with the glossy and back sides reversed.

  • Bend or separate paper at the perforations before printing.

  • Use label paper with the label surface peeling off or pulled up.

  • Write on paper before printing.

  • Reuse paper.
