Description

Disable MultiPASS Toolbar 'Load on Windows Startup' option - C530 / C560 / C555 / C755.

Login Currently in Progress

Close the MultiPASS Toolbar and MultiPASS Status Monitor. Then restart the Status Monitor. To prevent future occurrences of this type, deselect the option to load the Toolbar program on Windows startup. Once deselected, just launch the Toolbar from the Canon MultiPASS Suite program list whenever it is needed.

To close the MultiPASS programs, click the appropriate button for your operating system.

Windows 95, 98 and Me

Windows 2000 / XP

Windows NT 4.0


Windows 95, 98 and Me

  1. Click 'OK' in the Login currently in progress error box.

  2. Cancel the operation in progress, i. e. print, scan, etc.

  3. Disconnect the data cable from the back of the MultiPASS.

  4. Open the Close Program window by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl, Alt and Del (Delete) buttons.
    (be careful not to press them more than once, for the computer will reboot)

  5. Click on 'MultiPASS Toolbar' and then click 'End Task'. Repeat step 4 to end task on 'MultiPASS Status Monitor'.

  6. Reconnect the data cable to the MultiPASS.

  7. Launch the Status Monitor from the Canon MultiPASS Suite program list.

    • Click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Canon MultiPASS Suite'.
    • Click the 'Status Monitor'

  8. Reattempt the interrupted operation. Click here for instructions on how to stop the MultiPASS Toolbar program from loading on Windows startup.


Windows 2000
/ XP

  1. Click 'OK' in the Login currently in progress error box.

  2. Cancel the operation in progress, i. e. print, scan, etc.

  3. Disconnect the data cable from the back of the MultiPASS.

  4. Simultaneously press the Ctrl, Alt and Del ('Delete') buttons. This will open the Windows Security box.
    (be careful not to press them more than once, for the computer will reboot)

  5. To close the MultiPASS Toolbar program, click on the 'Task Manager' or 'Task List' button and then click on the 'Processes' tab.

  6. Highlight MPTBox.exe and then click 'End Process'.

  7. To close the MultiPASS Server, click 'Start', 'Settings' and 'Control Panel' or 'Start', then 'Control Panel' for XP.

  8. Double-click on the 'Administrative Tools' icon then 'Services'.

  9. Find and select MPService.

  10. Click on the 'Stop' button to close the server. The Status Monitor program will automatically close. (Do not close Control Panel/Services/ window yet).

  11. Reconnect the data cable to the MultiPASS.

  12. In the Control Panel/Services/ window, confirm MPService is highlighted and then click 'Start'. Close all windows.

  13. Launch the Status Monitor from the Canon MultiPASS Suite program list.

    • Click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Canon MultiPASS Suite'.
    • Click the 'Status Monitor'

  14. Reattempt the interrupted operation. Click here for instructions on how to stop the MultiPASS Toolbar program from loading on Windows startup.

Windows NT 4.0

  1. Click 'OK' in the Login currently in progress error box.

  2. Cancel the operation in progress, i. e. print, scan, etc.

  3. Disconnect the data cable from the back of the MultiPASS.

    (be careful not to press them more than once, for the computer will reboot)

Deselect Option to Load MultiPASS Toolbar on Windows Startup

  1. Launch the MultiPASS Toolbar from the Canon MultiPASS Suite program list.

    • Click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Canon MultiPASS Suite'.
    • Click 'MultiPASS Toolbar'.

  2. Right-click on the Toolbar icon and select Toolbar Settings.



  3. Uncheck the box labeled Load on Windows Startup on the Toolbar Settings tab.



  4. Click 'OK' to close the MultiPASS Toolbar Settings window. The Toolbar should not launch the next time Windows is started.
