The following instructions are provided to make basic copies using the operation panel. To make copies using more advanced options, please use the MP Navigator application.

Making Copies

The following instructions are provided to make basic copies using the operation panel. To make copies using more advanced options, please use the MP Navigator application.

1 Prepare for copying.

(1) Turn on the machine.

(2) Load paper.

(3) Load the original on the Platen Glass.


2 Start copying.

(1) Press the + button repeatedly to specify the number of copies (max. 20 copies).

To make one to nine copies or 20 copies:

(A) Press the + button to display the number of copies you need on the LED.

Note

By pressing the + button repeatedly, F will be displayed on the LED. The number of copies will be set as 20.


To make 10 to 19 copies:

(A) Press the + button to display F on the LED.

(B) Load as many pieces of paper as you need on the Rear Tray.

(2) Press the Paper button repeatedly to specify the page size and media type.

The Paper lamp indicates the selected page size and media type.

A4 or Letter Plain Paper / A4 or Letter Photo Paper / 4" x 6" Photo Paper

Note

You can switch the size of paper loaded in the Rear Tray between A4 and Letter.

(3) Press the Color button for color copying, or the Black button for black & white copying.

The machine starts copying.

To make 10 to 19 copies:

(A) When all the loaded paper has been printed, a paper-out error occurs. Press the Stop/Reset button to clear the error.

To make high speed copies:

(A) Press and hold down the Color or Black button for longer than 2 seconds.

The LED flashes once.

(B) Release the button.

The machine starts high speed copying.

Important

Do not open the Document Cover or remove the original from the Platen Glass until copying is complete.

Note

High speed copying is only available when A4 or Letter-sized plain paper is selected as the page size and media type.

High speed copying is suitable for text-only documents. If the quality is not as good as expected, try normal copying.

To cancel copying, press the Stop/Reset button.

Fit-to-Page Copying

This feature enables you to copy images so that they are automatically reduced or enlarged to fit the page size you select.


1 Prepare for copying.

2 Press the + button repeatedly to specify the number of copies.

3 Press the Paper button repeatedly to select the page size and media type.

Note

If you select "A4 or Letter Photo Paper" or "4" x 6" Photo Paper", the machine copies images so that they fill the entire page without borders. Some cropping may occur.

4 Press the Fit to Page button.

The Fit-to-Page lamp lights. To cancel the Fit-to-Page copying, press the Fit to Page button again.

5 Press the Color button for color copying, or the Black button for black & white copying.

The machine starts Fit-to-Page copying.





Changing the Copy Settings

Setting The Default Page Size

You can switch the size of paper loaded in the Rear Tray between A4 and Letter.

1 Press the Maintenance button repeatedly until d appears.


2 Press the Black button to select A4, or the Color button to select Letter.
