Solution

Adjusting the Lamp Shut Off Time (4400F)

The scanner lamp lights under normal circumstances when the scanner is powered. You can set it to reduce energy consumption by having the lamp shut off if a scan is not initiated for a predetermined length of time.

This length of time can be set as follows.

  1. Access ScanGear from the desired application (ex. - PhotoStudio).
  2. If not already in Advanced Mode, then click on the Advanced Mode button.

  3. Click on the Preferences button at the bottom. This brings up the 'Preferences' window.

  4. Click on the Scanner tab.

  5. In the box next to "Shut Off Lamp Time", specify the number in minutes that you want to elapse before the lamp shuts off. The number can be set by clicking the up/down arrow buttons to the right of the box, or you can input a number directly to set the value. This can be set in 4-minute intervals in the range from 4 minutes to 56 minutes.
    4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56

Note: By default the Shut Off Lamp Time is set to 12 minutes.
